GTA 6 S-Tier Potential: Ranking All Rockstar Games
A new trailer for GTA 6 has dropped, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details from it. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. In the meantime, let's reminisce about the Rockstar games we've loved over the years and rank them for fun.
Since its inception in 1998, Rockstar has developed and released over 30 games, including iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems ranks the highest? Just to clarify, this list focuses strictly on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2, which they published. I've ranked them using an IGN Tier List, based solely on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list:
Red Dead Redemption 2 stands out as my all-time favorite game, easily securing an S-tier spot. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a soft spot for Max Payne 3 and its bullet-time ballet, as well as GTA San Andreas (a game I played at a far too young age). At the bottom, in the D-tier, we find titles like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, games that few would willingly revisit.
Don't agree with my rankings? Think Vice City trumps GTA 4? Feel free to create your own tier list below and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the IGN community.
