Google Play Store Might Soon Auto-Launch Installed Apps For You
Ever download an app and promptly forget about it? Google Play Store may have the answer. A new feature reportedly in development will automatically launch apps upon installation.
The Details
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This potential addition would open downloaded apps instantly. No more hunting for icons or wondering if the download completed – the app will launch automatically.
This isn't official yet. The information comes from an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19. While there's no release date, the feature is reportedly called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional. Users can enable or disable it as needed.
How will it work? A notification banner will appear at the screen's top for approximately five seconds upon download completion. Your phone might also ring or vibrate, ensuring you won't miss it.
This information remains unofficial, so a precise release date is unavailable. We'll update you with any official announcements from Google.
