Ghostly Armor Emerges for Halloween Spectacle
Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Ghoulish Vote and Growing Concerns
Destiny 2 players face a chilling choice: vote for new horror-themed armor in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie has unveiled two competing sets, "Slashers" and "Spectres," each inspired by iconic horror villains and urban legends. The options include Jason Voorhees-inspired Titan armor, a Ghostface-esque Hunter set, and a spooky Scarecrow Warlock armor for the Slashers; while the Spectres offer a Babadook Titan, La Llorona Hunter, and a highly anticipated Slenderman Warlock set.
This announcement, however, comes amidst a backdrop of growing concern within the Destiny 2 community. While the new armor is exciting, Episode Revenant's numerous bugs and declining player numbers have cast a shadow over the anticipation. Issues such as broken tonics and persistent gameplay glitches, though mostly addressed, have left many players frustrated.
Bungie's decision to highlight a Halloween event ten months in advance has also surprised some players. Many feel the studio should address the current state of the game and the ongoing player concerns before focusing on a future event. The lack of acknowledgement of these issues, coupled with the continued decline in engagement, has fueled further frustration. The positive reception of the horror-themed armor is overshadowed by the larger anxieties surrounding the game's overall health.
The Wizard armor, a losing entry from the 2024 Festival of the Lost, will be made available during Episode Heresy, offering a small consolation to disappointed players. The upcoming vote for the 2025 armor sets will undoubtedly be a hotly contested affair, adding another layer to the complex feelings within the Destiny 2 community.
