Freedom Wars Remastered Weapons Guide: Types & Usage
Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, offering diverse strategic options. With six distinct weapon types available, players can tailor their builds to suit any preferred playstyle. The game features three gun and three melee weapon types, all fully customizable. Let's explore each weapon type's unique characteristics:
Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered
Players acquire new weapons through Operations or Zakka, the in-game store. While Comrade weapon choices are fixed, Accessory weapons are customizable and can be changed freely at any time without penalty. The six weapon types are:
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Rapid attacks ideal for quick playstyles, effective against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks inflicting substantial damage. Well-timed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, useful for maintaining distance from attacks. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant damage from a safe distance. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, making it a prime choice for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with the Thorne for strategic advantage. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage but limited ammo. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by the rapid firing rate. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike player characters, Accessories don't have ammo limitations when using gun weapons. This strategic element adds another layer of depth to combat planning and execution.
