Final Fantasy XVI Comes Out on PC September 17th
Square Enix has officially announced that the highly praised Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PC on September 17. This exciting development comes with an encouraging perspective on the franchise's future on PC, as Director Hiroshi Takai suggests the potential for future titles to launch simultaneously on multiple platforms.
Final Fantasy XVI's PC version will be available for purchase at $49.99, while a Complete Edition, which includes the game's two story expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, will be priced at $69.99. To build anticipation before the release, a playable demo is now accessible. This demo lets players experience the game's prologue and engage in a combat-focused "Eikonic Challenge" mode, with progress transferable to the full game upon purchase.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, FFXVI Director Hiroshi Takai shared that for the game's PC release, "we've increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can choose from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
