FFXIV Patch Notes Released for Major 7.0 Update

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail's expansive Patch 7.0 update is almost here, and preliminary patch notes offer a glimpse into the extensive changes awaiting players. The notes detail the locations for new Viper and Pictomancer job quests, along with numerous system adjustments within the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

Dawntrail, the fifth expansion to Square Enix's acclaimed title, marks the beginning of a new saga following Endwalker. It also introduces the game's first significant graphical overhaul since A Realm Reborn. The Warrior of Light and their companions journey to the western continent of Tural, embroiled in a succession rite to determine its next ruler. Players will team up with the young Hrothgar Wuk Lamat, one of four candidates for the Dawnservant title. Square Enix has proactively urged players to avoid spoiling story elements on social media.

While the main storyline remains shrouded in secrecy, the notes hint at exciting additions. The Arcadion raid series and the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon are slated for future updates. A level one quest rewarding a free Fantasia potion will be accessible in Ul'dah – Steps of Thal (X:13.4, Y:9.2). Locations for Dawntrail role quests are also revealed, though access requires progressing through the main storyline. The Viper job quest begins with a Worried Weaver in Ul'dah – Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2), while the Pictomancer quest starts with a Cheerless Hearer in Old Gridania (X:8.0, Y:10.3).
