TownsFolk Launches Major Update With New Features

• Watch out for wandering Barbarian raiders

Short Circuit Studio has rolled out a fresh update for TownsFolk, their recently released settlement-building game. Keeping with the game's enchanting pixel-art aesthetic and darker themes, this new "Shadows and Fortune" update introduces a variety of new gameplay mechanics to explore.

Even though the game just launched, the developers are focused on enriching the experience. This update brings new buildings and challenges to refresh your strategy. Expect to encounter roaming Barbarians that will test your skills in both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. You'll also gain access to eight new structures: the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer.

Aquatic areas are also getting more lively with the addition of the rare Whale. Special Locations like ancient Obelisks and newly added Shipwrecks will make each playthrough more unpredictable.

To help you manage all the new content, a handy Compendium serves as an in-game encyclopedia. The Exploration System has been overhauled, and you can now adjust the Campaign Difficulty between Frontier and Survival modes.
