Dune: Awakening Expands Desert, Endgame & Landsraad
A new update for Dune: Awakening brings further refinements to the endgame experience, especially for players focused on PvE activities. Highlights include the ability to harvest Tier 6 resources and improved odds of obtaining Unique items from PvE loot in the Deep Desert.
Previously, Funcom expanded the PvE zone within the Deep Desert from roughly 10% to 50% of the map. This came after a community Q&A where the studio acknowledged player feedback about the endgame, stating it was "developing a plan" to enhance PvP dynamics in the Deep Desert. Some players had criticized the endgame as "toxic" due to persistent griefing, even after the ability to crush other players with an Ornithopter was reportedly removed. Later workarounds saw griefers deliberately landing their Ornithopters on others' aircraft to block resource gathering.
The last major update for Dune: Awakening, version 1.1.10.00, implemented numerous changes. While it didn't specifically tackle endgame concerns at that time, it included several quality-of-life improvements. This latest patch, however, dedicates an entire section of its notes to the Deep Desert, endgame content, and the Landsraad system.
The increased availability of T6 resources in PvE sectors of the Deep Desert is a significant change. Despite previous adjustments to PvE and PvP zones, consistently finding T6 minerals still often required venturing into high-risk PvP areas. This update should let players gather the resources they need without constantly risking their in-game survival.
PvP enthusiasts also receive some attention. One adjustment increases the delay for leaving a PvP security zone from 5 to 30 seconds, discouraging border camping and giving players more time to defend their territory.

Dune: Awakening Patch Notes 1.1.15.0
Deep Desert, End Game, and Landsraad
Tier 6 resources can now be gathered across a broader range of the PvE section in the Deep Desert. We've introduced randomization to the respawn timers for unique loot containers in the Deep Desert.Plastanium-tier crafting components are now distributed based on their source location: Imperial Testing Stations, Caves, or Shipwrecks, each providing a specific set of components. Fallen Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure may contain components from any of these locations.PvE loot in the Deep Desert now has a chance to include a different assortment of Unique items. The spawn rate for medium spice fields has been raised from 5 to 8, and for small spice fields from 22 to 30.The exit delay for PvP security zones has been extended from 5 to 30 seconds to reduce border camping and help PvP players secure their territory.Landsraad tasks have been adjusted to allow Kill and Delivery Contributions to be counted even after a task is finished, though these only award personal contribution. (This means that the winning faction and guild vote distribution are not affected by contributions made after one faction has completed the task).
Other:
Enhanced overall game stability.Reduced occurrences of sandworms pushing vehicles beneath the terrain.Added a new audio cue for changes in PvP zone status.
FIXES
Resolved an issue where the Harkonnen faction recruitment contract “Do you have what it takes?” could sometimes become stuck if players exited the dialogue with Maxim Kazmir before selecting the “It says here that you’re looking for recruits” line to finalize the contract.Fixed a problem where contract rewards would drop on the ground if the player's inventory was full, potentially causing players to miss these items. Rewards can now only be collected when sufficient inventory space is available.Corrected an issue where vehicle modules would not highlight correctly after applying a customization variant.Addressed a bug where placing a pentashield surface could cause it to overlap with an existing one.Patched an exploit that allowed players to construct vehicles using items from another player's inventory.
