"Duck Bucket" Added to REPO in First Update
REPO's development team has revealed exciting upcoming features, including a "duck bucket" to prevent the game's notorious duck from eliminating players. Discover more about their planned updates and Lethal Company creator's impressions.
Key Features Coming in REPO's First Update
Duck Bucket To Counter The Duck Threat
The initial update will introduce both a new map and a revolutionary "duck bucket" item to handle the dangerous duck. Semiwork Studios unveiled these plans via YouTube on March 15th.
REPO is a 6-player cooperative horror experience where teams carefully retrieve items in terrifying environments. Players often encounter The Apex Predator - a deceptively cute yellow duck that transforms into a deadly monster when disturbed, attacking for 10 seconds before reverting.
The upcoming duck bucket will let players trap the troublesome avian, preventing unwanted transformations and protecting teammates. The update will also bring new character expressions and quality-of-life enhancements.
Introducing 'The Museum' Map and Public Lobbies
Semiwork Studios announced "The Museum" - a new level designed to test players' parkour abilities. This environment will clearly mark extraction boundaries for collected items.
The developers are also implementing public lobbies based on player feedback. "After reviewing suggestions, we're exploring matchmaking options with public/private hosting and kick functionality. Implementing this requires new server coding we're currently learning," explained the team.
However, the studio cautioned that these complex systems may delay the update's release schedule.
Lethal Company Creator Shares REPO Feedback
Since its February launch, players have drawn comparisons between REPO and the popular Lethal Company horror game. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekerss offered constructive criticism via Twitter/X:
"REPO delivers fun experiences. Initially I disliked the sluggish movement and limited voice chat range, but coordinating piano movements through haunted mansions creates hilarious horror moments." He elaborated further:
"Main suggestions: 1) Expand voice chat range and reduce muffling 2) Tight environments work better than open spaces (similar to Phasmophobia) - the mansion layout shines brightest."
Responding to concerns about silent enemy approaches, Zeekerss added: "The game needs clearer enemy behavior tutorials, though I expect those are planned."
Currently PC-exclusive, REPO has skyrocketed to become Steam's #2 top-selling game behind Counter-Strike 2. SteamDB reports over 230,645 concurrent players - nearing Lethal Company's record peak. Stay updated with our ongoing REPO coverage!
