This roadmap signifies a shift in how yearly content is structured. Bungie explained, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each year will now feature four major content updates: two paid expansions and two significant updates accessible to all players."

These updates promise new events, Exotic Missions, gear, rewards, and more. Importantly, access to seasonal activities will remain free, ensuring that every player can enjoy Destiny 2's major updates.

The Edge of Fate Launches July 15

Kicking off the Year of Prophecy, Destiny 2's first expansion, The Edge of Fate, launches on July 15. Players will explore the new location, Kepler, and harness unique abilities with the aid of new allies.

The update introduces the Portal, a new activity selection screen designed to streamline access to various activities tailored to different playstyles, making it easier for players to find their next adventure.
