Deltarune Exclusive Switch 2 Feature Shows Up in Secret \"SPECIAL ROOM\"

Deltarune is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, as revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct on April 2. This upcoming release will feature Chapters 3 and 4, along with exclusive features tailored for the next-gen console.

According to a Fangamer newsletter by Deltarune creator Toby Fox, the Switch 2 version will boast a unique "SPECIAL ROOM" that utilizes the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox shared his excitement, saying, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For those playing on non-Switch 2 devices, the SPECIAL ROOM will still be accessible, albeit with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 to the new version.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In the same newsletter, Fox disclosed that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, as well as the new releases of Chapters 3 and 4. Chapter 1 was initially released in 2018, followed by Chapter 2 in 2021, both of which were free. Although it was previously stated that Chapters 3-5 would be paid content, Fox has now confirmed that future chapters will be added as free updates. He expressed his hope that players would feel like the game offers incredible value, stating, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game’s soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99. With the release of Chapters 3 and 4, the soundtrack will feature over 150 songs, and songs from future chapters will be added for free. Deltarune aims to deliver exceptional value by providing future chapters and content at no extra cost.

DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 are scheduled to launch on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2.
