Krafton's mobile adaptation of Ironmace's popular extraction dungeon crawler, Dark and Darker, is set to debut in Canada with a soft launch on February 5th. However, players around the world won't have to wait long, as a global launch is planned for the first half of this year.
For the uninitiated, Dark and Darker blends extraction shooter mechanics with dungeon crawling. You can venture solo or form a party with D&D-inspired classes like fighters, rogues, barbarians, wizards, and bards. Your mission: navigate vast dungeons, battle monsters, and compete against other treasure hunters eager to claim your loot.
Ironmace's original PC version created quite a stir, prompting Krafton to quickly secure the rights for a mobile adaptation. With the worldwide launch approaching, further enhancements are being integrated into Dark and Darker before its global release.
Evolving gameplayKey updates in the pipeline include revisions to the Darkswarm system and escape mechanics for exiting dungeons. Dungeon structures will also be reworked to better support party play. Additionally, class differentiation will be enhanced through more basic attacks and refined combat mechanics. Players can look forward to a broader arsenal of weapons and skills.
