Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

Author : Zachary Apr 06,2025

Tomorrow marks an exciting milestone for Monster Hunter Wilds as it receives its first Title Update, introducing quests that spotlight competitive speed runs. In response to this update, Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating to maintain a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for all players.

In a recent announcement on their X/Twitter account, Capcom issued a clear warning: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."

PlayNot only are individual cheaters at risk, but Capcom also cautioned that players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters could face consequences, including invalid quest completion times and the revocation of rewards for the entire party.

"Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," Capcom advised. They further encouraged players to report any instances of cheating they encounter during quests.

The new quests will offer attractive rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some pendants will be awarded to all participants, while others will be based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it directly impacts the integrity of rewards and completion times.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be available starting with Title Update 1 and will be managed through the new Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub in Suja. To access these quests, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Be sure to prioritize this once Title Update 1 launches tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
