Camo Challenge Tracking in Black Ops 6: How It Works

Author : Jason May 26,2025

Season 2 of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* has officially launched, introducing a game-changing feature that simplifies the progression grind: the Camo Challenge Tracking system. This new addition is designed to make your journey to unlocking coveted camos smoother and more engaging. Here's a detailed guide on how it works and how you can make the most of it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Enhances Camo Challenge Progress Tracking

The patch notes for the latest update highlight the Camo Challenge Tracking system, stating: “The Challenge Tracker makes it easy for players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges they’re actively working toward, but there’s another element of this system that we think players will find useful on the journey to Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter: Near Completion.” This feature allows you to manually select up to 10 camos to track, providing easy access to your progress during gameplay, eliminating the need to navigate through menus to check your status. Additionally, the tracker sends notifications for challenges nearing completion, even if they're not among those you've chosen to track.

How to Track Camo and Calling Card Challenges in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Camo Challenge Tracking

To start tracking a challenge, navigate to the specific Camo or Calling Card challenge you want to monitor. Use the Y button on an Xbox controller or the Triangle button on a PlayStation controller to add it to your tracker. This allows you to view your progress during live matches, helping you stay focused on your goals without having to pause the action.

Even if you don't manually select a challenge, the game automatically populates the tracker with challenges you're close to completing. These can be viewed at any time, giving you a clear picture of what you're about to unlock. The top tracked or near-complete challenges are also displayed in the *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* lobby under the Daily Challenge section, providing a comprehensive list of camos and calling cards on the verge of being unlocked.

Season 2's update further streamlines the process of unlocking special camos. Previously, unlocking a special camo required nine military camos. Now, that number has been reduced to five, making the journey to mastery camos more achievable. However, players still need to unlock two special camos to earn the highly coveted mastery camos.

The community has long discussed the overwhelming number of camos and the challenges in tracking progress and achieving required headshots and kills. Treyarch seems to have taken this feedback seriously, implementing more efficient ways to track, earn, and equip camos, enhancing the overall experience of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*.
