Assassin’s Creed Shadows Expansion Details Leaked on Steam
Assassin's Creed Shadows' First DLC, "Claws of Awaji," Leaks on Steam
Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced via a now-removed Steam update, according to Insider Gaming. This first DLC for the game, set in feudal Japan, promises significant additions to the already anticipated title.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, featuring dual protagonists Yasuke and Naoe, marks the franchise's debut in Japan. The game's development has been fraught with challenges, including negative feedback and multiple delays, the most recent pushing the release date to March 20, 2025.
The leaked Steam information reveals "Claws of Awaji" will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, adding over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak follows Ubisoft's recent announcement of another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, the release was first moved to February 14, 2025, then further postponed to March 20, 2025, for additional polish.
The challenges surrounding Assassin's Creed Shadows' development coincide with wider uncertainty at Ubisoft. Rumors of a Tencent acquisition follow a period of mixed success for the company, with some recent titles failing to meet expectations.
