Alexa Plus Now Available on Select Echo Show Devices
Amazon has introduced a new iteration of its popular voice assistant: Alexa+. Currently in Early Access, this upgraded version promises a more natural, conversational experience, powered by generative AI. According to Amazon, "Alexa+ is more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done." This enhanced assistant is designed to handle a wide range of tasks, from managing your to-do list and finding details on your calendar to booking restaurant reservations.
At this stage, Alexa+ is exclusive to certain Echo Show devices, including the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own one of these devices or plan to purchase one, you can sign up for notifications about the Early Access availability through the link provided below. Following the Early Access period, Alexa+ will be offered as a complimentary benefit for Amazon Prime members, or available to non-Prime users for a monthly subscription fee of $19.99.

Alexa+ is designed to evolve, with Amazon promising regular updates and new features. This ongoing development suggests that users can expect even more functionalities post-Early Access.
However, not all devices will support Alexa+ immediately. Older models like the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen will continue to operate with the original Alexa. Amazon plans to expand Alexa+ compatibility to include Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com in the near future.
