BASE is an innovative app that harnesses the universal appeal of football to enhance learning in schools. Designed as a partner tool for educators, BASE transforms the traditional classroom experience by integrating play into the learning process. The primary goal of the app is to enable children to absorb the same educational content in a more engaging way—through gameplay.
In its initial phase, BASE structures its gameplay into three distinct seasons, mirroring the structure of sports tournaments. Each season features four escalating levels of competition: Regional, National, Continental, and World, preceded by a Pre-Season. These tournaments vary in the number and difficulty of questions, which are framed as matches within the game. The gamified nature of BASE is further enhanced with rewards such as coins, points, and trophies, which are designed to maintain and boost children's engagement and motivation.
The educational content within BASE has been meticulously crafted by the team at the Vini.Jr Institute in collaboration with educators from the Paulo Reglus Neves Freire Municipal School. Initially targeting the early years of Elementary School (1st to 5th grade), the app aims to benefit children aged 6 to 10. By leveraging the popularity of sports and the power of technology, BASE seeks to make learning both fun and accessible. All questions in the app are aligned with the standards set by the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), ensuring that the educational material remains relevant and beneficial to the students' academic journey.
