12BT: A Two-Player Strategy Board Game

12BT, also known as Bead 12, Sholo Guti, or 12 Tehni, is a captivating two-player board game reminiscent of chess. Each player commands 12 pieces (pawns). This game shares similarities with other classic strategy games like Draughts (Checkers), Dame, Damas, and the Arabic game Quirkat (Al-qirq, Alquerque - القرقات‎). While the board setup differs slightly from Draughts, players familiar with Draughts will quickly grasp the mechanics of 12BT, Quirkat, and similar games such as Halma, Chinese Checkers, and Konane. Alquerque's board and starting arrangement are particularly close to 12BT.
