Witcher Former Devs' Upcoming Dark Fantasy Action RPG To Be Published by Bandai Namco
Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by key members of the Witcher 3 development team, has partnered with Bandai Namco Entertainment for the global publishing of their debut title, Dawnwalker. This dark fantasy action RPG, slated for a 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox, promises a mature, story-driven experience set in a medieval European setting.
The collaboration brings together Rebel Wolves' fresh energy and experience with Bandai Namco's established expertise in publishing narrative-driven RPGs. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, highlighted the shared values and Bandai Namco's proven track record as a perfect fit. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, emphasized Dawnwalker as a significant addition to their Western market strategy.
Led by CD Projekt Red veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz (lead quest designer on The Witcher 3) as creative director, and featuring Jakub Szamalek (a 9-year CDPR veteran) as narrative director, Dawnwalker is built on a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, offering a non-linear narrative with player choice and replayability at its core. Further details are expected in the coming months.
This partnership marks a significant step for both Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco, promising a compelling addition to the action RPG genre in 2025.
