Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Ubisoft has officially announced to Game File that the much-anticipated live-action adaptation of their iconic Driver series has been shelved. Initially announced in 2021, the series was set to premiere exclusively on Binge.com. Ubisoft's mission, as articulated by Danielle Kreinik, head of Ubisoft Film & Television, was "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."

Unfortunately, the project hit a roadblock when Hotrod Tanner LLC, a subsidiary of Ubisoft named after the Driver protagonist, closed down in January. Consequently, Ubisoft decided to end their partnership with Binge, leading to the cancellation of the series. A Ubisoft spokesperson shared with Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, fans of the Driver franchise should not lose hope. Ubisoft has confirmed that they are "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise." While specifics remain under wraps, Ubisoft's enthusiasm for future announcements promises more thrilling developments for Driver enthusiasts.
