Squid Game: Unleashed is gearing up for a major content drop to coincide with the release of season two of the hit Netflix show. Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges! Plus, exclusive rewards await those who tune into the new episodes.

Netflix's surprising decision to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, before the holidays, was a bold move. Now, with this new content update, they're cleverly incentivizing non-users to sign up by offering enticing rewards for watching the show!

What's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game season two will launch. Three new playable avatars will also debut throughout January: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and Thanos (the rapper, not the Marvel character).

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And the best part? Watching episodes of Squid Game season two unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes even unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Here's the January content roadmap for Squid Game: Unleashed:

  • January 3rd: The Mingle map arrives alongside Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) by completing Mingle-inspired mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
  • January 9th: Thanos joins the roster, accompanied by his Thanos’ Red Light Challenge recruitment event (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to earn this character.
  • January 16th: Yong-Sik, the final character in this wave, enters the game.

Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. Offering free access was a bold strategy, but rewarding subscribers while simultaneously promoting the show itself is a masterstroke. This innovative approach cleverly intertwines the game and the show, creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
