Squad Busters: 40M Installs, $24M Revenue in 30 Days
Supercell's new MOBA RTS, Squad Busters, has achieved impressive early results, boasting over 40 million installs and $24 million in net revenue within its first month. The game saw particularly strong performance in the United States, followed by Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, and South Korea.
However, these figures pale in comparison to Supercell's previous successes. Brawl Stars, for instance, generated $43 million in its first month in 2018, while Clash Royale amassed over $115 million during its initial 30 days back in 2016. Furthermore, Squad Busters' install rate has significantly declined since its peak of 30 million in the first week, falling below five million by the end of the month. Spending has also decreased since launch.
This underperformance raises concerns about potential Supercell fatigue. Competitor titles like Honkai Star Rail, which raked in $190 million in its first month, highlight the significant gap in Squad Busters' performance. While Squad Busters is a well-made game, its similarity to Supercell's existing portfolio may be contributing to this market saturation.
