Scott Pilgrim EX: A Nostalgic Return to Classic Brawling

Scott Pilgrim EX is shaping up to be an exciting new chapter in the beloved Scott Pilgrim universe. Developed by Tribute Games—renowned for their work on retro-style action titles—and created in collaboration with Scott Pilgrim’s original creator, Bryan Lee O'Malley, this brand-new entry is set to launch across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch platforms in early 2026.

The game takes the form of a four-player co-op brawler, embracing a nostalgic pixel art aesthetic while delivering a fresh and original storyline. Players will have the chance to step into the shoes of Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and five other iconic characters as they battle demons, robots, and other quirky foes in a stylized, reimagined Toronto.

True to its roots, Scott Pilgrim EX will feature a brand-new original soundtrack crafted by Anamanaguchi, known for their energetic chiptune style. The game's visuals are further elevated with pixel art direction from acclaimed artist Paul Robertson, while BenDavid Grabinski, director of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, lends his expertise as creative consultant.

This marks only the second official Scott Pilgrim video game, following Ubisoft’s original 2010 release and its 2021 remastered re-release under the name Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition. Interestingly, several members of the development team at Tribute Games previously worked on the original Scott Pilgrim title during their time at Ubisoft, bringing both experience and passion to this long-awaited sequel.
