Popular Board Game "Imperial Miners" Goes Digital on Android
Portal Games Digital has released a digital adaptation of their popular board game, Imperial Miners, for Android devices. This card game centers around strategic mine construction, adding to their existing Android library which includes titles like Neuroshima Convoy, Imperial Settlers: Roll & Write, and Tides of Time.
Imperial Miners, designed by Tim Armstrong (known for Arcana Rising and Orbis) and illustrated by Hanna Kuik (whose credits include Batman: Everybody Lies and Dune: House Secrets), puts players in charge of an underground mining operation. The objective is to create the most efficient mine by skillfully playing cards and building a flourishing subterranean empire. Gameplay involves starting at the surface and progressively digging deeper, collecting valuable Crystals and Carts to earn Victory Points.
The game features a unique card-playing mechanic where each card's effect activates and triggers those above it. Six distinct factions offer diverse strategic options and exciting combo possibilities. Ten rounds of gameplay, each introducing a new Event (ranging from simple to disruptive), add an element of unpredictability. Players also advance on randomly selected Progress boards, adding layers of strategic depth and ensuring replayability.
Imperial Miners is an engaging engine-building game, faithfully recreating the original board game's appeal in its digital format. Priced at $4.99 on the Google Play Store, it offers a compelling experience for strategy game enthusiasts. Check it out and explore other gaming news on our site.
