Polytopia's Aquarion Tribe Emerges as Oceanic Dominants After Major Update
Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe! This marks a significant rework of the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion receive a dramatic visual upgrade. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic warriors. This grants them effortless water traversal, although land movement is somewhat slower. A key innovation is the introduction of flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
The Aquarion's aquatic theme extends to their buildings. Construction on water is now possible, and Lost Cities are hidden within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal strategic bases for seafaring players. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. The update also permanently integrates Aqua Crops, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures add depth to the Aquarion experience. Sharks provide surprise attacks, puffers offer long-range bombardments, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also receive enhancements; Crabs now flood the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See the changes in action!
Dive into the Renewed Aquarion Tribe
Midjiwan has revitalized the Aquarion Tribe with this update. Note that Lost Cities now appear at level 3 and include pre-built walls.
