Path of Exile 2: Ritual Guide – Passives, Tributes, And Favours
Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide
Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revamped mechanic from previous PoE leagues. We'll cover initiating Ritual events, key mechanics, the Ritual Passive Skill Tree, the Pinnacle boss (King in the Mists), and the unique Tribute and Favour reward system.
Identifying and Initiating Rituals
On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a red pentagram icon featuring a demonic face. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, slotted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.
Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will spawn. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemies or mechanics. Modifiers might include massive rat swarms or life-draining pools of blood.
Interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers. A large enemy wave will spawn within a designated circle. Remaining within this zone is crucial; leaving it prematurely ends the event and forfeits rewards. A map is considered complete only after successfully completing all Rituals within it.
The King in the Mists: Pinnacle Boss Encounter
The 'An Audience With The King' currency item, obtainable through Favours, unlocks the Crux of Nothingness and the King in the Mists Pinnacle Boss fight. This boss shares mechanics with the Act 1 Cruel version found in Freythorn. Defeating him awards 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique PoE 2 Uniques, powerful Currencies, and Omen items.
Ritual Passive Skill Tree
The Ritual Passive Skill Tree, accessible via the Atlas Passive Skill Tree screen (bottom right), enhances Rituals. Nodes reduce Tribute requirements, improve rewards, and boost unique Currency drop chances. The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing King in the Mists difficulty. Each Notable node requires defeating the Pinnacle boss at an increased difficulty.
Notable Delirium Passive | Effect | Requirements |
---|---|---|
Promised Devotion | Ritual Altar skills deal 25% increased Damage. Deferring Favours requires 50% less Tribute, appearing 50% sooner | N/A |
From The Mists | Rituals contain 2 extra packs of enemies | N/A |
Reinvigorated Sacrifices | Revived monsters gain 20% Toughness and deal 10% more damage, but no longer penalize Tribute. | From The Mists |
Spreading Darkness | Maps always contain 4 Ritual Altars | N/A |
Between Two Worlds | Rituals always contain a Wildwood Wisp, increasing Tribute earned | Spreading Darkness |
Ominous Portents | Monster waves spawn 25% faster, but Favours have a 50% increased chance of containing an Omen | N/A |
He Approaches | Revived monsters have a 20% chance to be Magic or Rare. 50% chance for 'An Audience With The King' | Ominous Portents |
Tempting Offers | Allows an extra Favour re-roll at 25% reduced Tribute cost | N/A |
Prioritize 'From The Mists', 'Spreading Darkness', and 'Ominous Portents' initially, then 'Tempting Offers' and 'He Approaches'.
Ritual Rewards: Tribute and Favours
Completed Rituals grant Tribute, a temporary currency exchanged for Favours (randomized items). More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock more Favours, ranging from Magic items and low-level Currencies to Rare gear and high-tier Currencies, including 'An Audience With The King'. Omen items, powerful modifiers for other Currency items, are also possible rewards.
