Palworld Mobile Version In Development by PUBG Creators

Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring the monster-collecting game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt Palworld's core gameplay for mobile platforms through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This collaboration signifies an expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.

However, many details about the mobile version remain undisclosed. The original Palworld game launched on Xbox and Steam in January, achieving significant popularity. Its recent PlayStation 5 release (excluding Japan) may be linked to an ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo concerning alleged patent infringement related to the game's mechanics. Nintendo's lawsuit focuses on similarities between Palworld's gameplay and Pokémon, particularly the method of capturing creatures. Pocket Pair denies knowledge of the specific patents in question.

Krafton's involvement is strategic, providing much-needed development resources to Pocket Pair, who are still actively developing the main game. While exciting, the mobile project is likely in its early stages. More information regarding the mobile version, such as whether it will be a direct port or a modified adaptation, is eagerly awaited. In the meantime, fans can explore the game's features and gameplay on the official Steam page.
