Netflix Cancels Electric State Prequel Game: Kid Cosmo
Netflix is set to launch a movie tie-in game for its highly anticipated sci-fi adventure, The Electric State. Titled The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, the game will premiere on March 18th, just four days after the film debuts on Netflix. Directed by the renowned Russo brothers, the movie stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt and is set against the backdrop of massive robots navigating a post-apocalyptic, alternate 1990s America.
This game isn’t a straightforward adaptation of the film—it’s a prequel that delves into the childhood of two pivotal characters, Chris and Michelle. Developed in collaboration with AGBO by BUCK Games, known for their popular roguelike puzzle game Let’s! Revolution!, Kid Cosmo promises engaging gameplay with a retro-futuristic twist.
Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game spans five years, offering players a deeper dive into the protagonists' journey before the events of the movie unfold. Players will embark on a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series but with a distinctly '80s aesthetic. By collecting modules, repairing Kid Cosmo’s spaceship, and solving intricate puzzles, gamers will gradually uncover the mysteries of this enigmatic world.
