Mortal Kombat 1 released Conan the Barbarian gameplay trailer

Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive videos showcasing upcoming content. Yesterday's esports trailer teased the T-1000, but confirmed that the Terminator isn't the next playable character. Instead, Conan the Barbarian takes center stage, releasing next week for Premium Edition owners. Today's gameplay trailer offers a closer look at this iconic character in action.

Conan's gameplay showcases a classic "big body" archetype. His attacks appear powerful, delivering significant damage, though he sacrifices speed and agility. This potential drawback might be offset by his extended sword reach. A clash between Conan and characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander would certainly be a spectacle to behold.

While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the explosive impact of some other Mortal Kombat 1 finishers. His acid-drowning method, while effective, feels less visually striking. However, fun gameplay is paramount, and Conan's unique fighting style promises an enjoyable experience.

Premium Edition owners gain early access to Conan next Tuesday, January 22nd. All other players will need to wait until January 28th.
