Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to return for Esports World Cup in 2025
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025!
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, many publishers are confirming their games' return for the 2025 edition. Hot on the heels of Garena's Free Fire announcement, Moonton has confirmed that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will also be featured.
The 2024 tournament included two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These events brought together teams from around the globe in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (ending their 25-game win streak) to claim the Women's Invitational title.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning in 2025. However, a notable observation is the relatively smaller scale of many of the featured competitions. The inclusion of the MLBB Mid Season Cup, for instance, might lead some to perceive the Esports World Cup as a secondary event rather than the main attraction.
This has a double-edged effect. It's positive in that the EWC avoids overshadowing established leagues, but it could also be seen as a less prestigious tournament.
Regardless, fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will undoubtedly welcome its return to this high-profile competition. If you're inspired to try MLBB, check out our Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tier list to discover the top-tier characters!
