Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter, features a competitive mode with a seasonal rank system. This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanics.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, ending a season at Diamond I will result in a starting rank of Gold II in the next season. Players at Bronze III, the lowest rank, remain there after the reset.

Rank Reset Timing

The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1, commencing January 10th (at the time of writing), will be the first instance of this reset.

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through ranks is achieved by earning points in matches; every 100 points advances you to the next tier. The ranks are:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to attain Eternity and One Above All ranks. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Length

Unlike the shorter Season 0, subsequent seasons are expected to span approximately three months. New seasons introduce fresh content, including new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time for rank climbing.
