"Konosuba Mobile Game Prepares to Close, Considers Offline Version"

KonoSuba: Fantastic Days to Conclude Service in January 2025

The popular mobile RPG, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, developed by Sesisoft, will be ending its service on January 30th, 2025. Both the global and Japanese servers will shut down simultaneously after nearly five years of operation. However, players can look forward to a potential offline version in the works, preserving the main storyline, significant quests, and events for continued enjoyment. Details regarding this offline version remain scarce.

In-App Purchases and Refunds

The developers are handling the closure smoothly. Official channels will close on February 28th, 2025, while in-app purchases have already been disabled since October 31st, 2024. Players can still utilize existing Quartz and in-game items until the service ends. Refunds for unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 are available until January 30th, 2025, for eligible players.

A Look Back at KonoSuba: Fantastic Days

Initially launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was the first mobile game based on the KonoSuba franchise. The game’s charming narrative, appealing visuals, and visual novel-style story mode were well-received.

Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days shares a fate common to many gacha RPGs. Numerous anime-based games have faced closure this year, often due to dwindling player engagement or unsustainable operational costs.

With only a few months remaining, players who haven't experienced KonoSuba: Fantastic Days are encouraged to download it from the Google Play Store before the servers shut down. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Orna: The GPS MMORPG's Conqueror's Guild for PvP Battles.
