Immersive AR Adventure Expands Language Horizons for Gamescom Latam
Fantasma: A New AR Multiplayer GPS Adventure Game
Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam, a compelling augmented reality (AR) multiplayer GPS adventure game. The game's recent update includes support for Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese languages, with German, Italian, and Spanish planned for release in the coming months.
In Fantasma, players hunt and battle mischievous creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait. Combat takes place in augmented reality, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to attack. Defeated Fantasma are captured in special bottles.
Fantasma creatures appear based on the player's real-world location, encouraging exploration. Players can deploy sensors to expand their search radius and attract Fantasma from farther away. Cooperative gameplay is also supported, allowing players to team up for a more social experience.
Fantasma is free-to-play with in-app purchases and available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download links are provided below.
