Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9: Cosmic Overhaul Arrives December 3rd!

Get ready for a celestial shake-up! Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode is launching Season 9 on December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes, updates, and exciting new features. Prepare for cosmic vibes, cutting-edge tech, and a completely revamped minion lineup – it's like the Tavern had a galactic makeover!

Key Changes:

Bob's Technotavern is getting a major upgrade, and Season 9 resets the rating ladder. Trinkets are being retired, making way for a new game mechanic: Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens allow you to reroll your hero choice at the selection screen – perfect for escaping those undesirable options!

Reveal Schedule:

Before the full launch, Hearthstone is revealing new content in stages:

  • November 20th: Naga and Dragon reveals.
  • November 21st: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
  • November 22nd: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
  • November 25th: Murloc and Demon reveals.
  • November 26th: Elemental and Undead reveals.
  • December 2nd: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.

More New Features:

Season 9 introduces three brand-new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo already generating considerable buzz with his Galaxy’s Lens ability. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are either joining or leaving the pool, significantly altering gameplay strategies.

A change to the damage cap affects solo Battlegrounds games only. Early-game damage is capped at 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. However, this cap is removed once you reach the top 4.

Minion Release Schedule:

  • December 3rd: Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs are added.
  • December 5th: Murlocs and Demons join the minion pool.
  • December 9th: Undead and Elementals are added.
