A Decade in the Making

The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays. Initially starting in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, the project, then codenamed "Joplin," was sidelined due to BioWare's focus on Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem. Further complicating matters, the original design clashed with the company's shift towards live-service games, leading to a complete development halt.
In 2018, the project was revived under the codename "Morrison," eventually announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
Despite the challenges, the wait is almost over. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this fall. Get ready to return to Thedas!
