Disney Mirrorverse To Shutter By Year's End
Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile game featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases have been disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining playtime before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse:
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse is an action RPG where players battle alongside redesigned Disney and Pixar characters. Kabam recommends completing the final storyline before the game's closure.
While initially met with enthusiasm, the game's two-year early access period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The challenging shard collection system, requiring significant investment for character maximization, further hindered player engagement. Despite these drawbacks, the game boasted impressive character designs and high-quality graphics.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement:
The EOS announcement is particularly surprising given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first instance of abruptly ending a game's service; Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off faced similar fates.
