"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"
The release of *Days Gone Remastered* is approaching, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared details on the enhanced accessibility features that will be part of this updated version. One notable feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the gameplay during intense moments. This option, detailed in a new PlayStation Blog post by Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister, lets players scale the game speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. The goal, as McAllister explained, is to assist players who may find themselves overwhelmed in high-pressure scenarios.
"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister stated. "Hordes are a central element in *Days Gone* gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."In addition to the Game Speed feature, *Days Gone Remastered* will include other accessibility enhancements such as customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete Quick Time Event (QTE) option, previously exclusive to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of *Days Gone*. However, certain features like feedback and control customization options will necessitate the use of a compatible controller.
*Days Gone Remastered* was officially unveiled in February, promising not only these accessibility improvements but also an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game centered around a biker protagonist is slated for release on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of *Days Gone* can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
