Classic Consoles Return: 1994 PC, PS1 Nostalgia Rekindled
Microids is thrilled to announce the autumn release of Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest, a modernized reimagining of the beloved 1994 action-adventure classic. This updated version, developed by 2.21 and published by Microids, retains the charm of the original while boasting significant enhancements. The game, originally conceived by Frederick Raynal at Adeline Software International (a Delphine Software International subsidiary), benefits from modern gameplay mechanics and visuals, staying true to the original's atmosphere.
The project builds upon the legacy of the original Little Big Adventure and its sequel, both created by the now-defunct Adeline Software International. While Adeline's history is intertwined with Infogrames and its alumni, 2.21 has taken the reins for this remake, delivering a fresh take on the Twinsun adventure. Microids, also known for its work on the Totally Spies franchise, handles publishing duties.
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest features a captivating narrative, refined level design, improved controls, a revamped version of Twinsen's signature weapon, and a striking new art style. The original composer, Philippe Vachey (known for his work on Alone in the Dark), has returned to craft a new soundtrack. This remake promises a compelling journey back to Twinsun, offering both nostalgic charm and modern gameplay enhancements.
This highly anticipated title will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) later this year. The game revisits the planet Twinsun and its diverse inhabitants, whose peaceful existence is threatened by Dr. Funfrock's nefarious cloning and teleportation technology. Players will once again guide Twinsen as he embarks on a thrilling quest to defeat Dr. Funfrock and restore harmony to Twinsun, solving intricate puzzles and overcoming formidable challenges along the way. This follows previous releases on GOG.com (PC and Mac in 2011), and later on Android and iOS platforms. The project, announced in 2021 by co-creator Didier Chanfray (of Time Commando fame), culminates in this exciting new release.
