Camper Waits for Switch 2 at San Francisco Nintendo Store Before It Opens

The Nintendo Store in San Francisco isn't set to open its doors for another month, but it's already drawing attention with at least one dedicated fan camping out for the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.

YouTuber Super Cafe documented his journey in a video released on April 8, showcasing his flight to San Francisco. His mission? To camp out not just for the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 but also for the grand opening of the new Nintendo Store on May 15. Having traveled over 800 miles, Super Cafe is determined to be the first in line on the West Coast.

"I've only lived in my apartment for two months. I like, just moved out," Super Cafe admitted. "Terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares."

Super Cafe's endeavor mirrors that of another YouTube content creator who is camping out at the New York store for the same console. Unlike his counterpart, Super Cafe is going solo but has invited others interested in joining him at the San Francisco opening to reach out.

As for the practicalities of his extended stay, such as food, showers, and other necessities, Super Cafe plans to address these in a future Q&A.

With campers now stationed at both coastal Nintendo stores, it remains to be seen if this will spark a trend of others joining the queue. One thing is clear: these creators are committed to their cause.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for release on June 5, 2025. For those not keen on camping out, our guides on Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders offer insights, though the situation in the United States is complicated by ongoing tariffs.
