Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event treats Call of Duty fans to a detailed blog post outlining upcoming zombie-themed surprises.

The star of today's announcements is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This marks another exciting addition to the Zombies universe, following Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, and arrives in less than two weeks.

Following the harrowing events of Citadelle des Morts, the story continues as Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya heed Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, leading them to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. Treyarch's narrative summary describes the catacombs, built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., as having remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s, hinting at secrets far deeper than anyone imagined.

The Tomb's gameplay is described as reminiscent of Liberty Falls, the smaller, town-based map from Black Ops 6's October launch. Treyarch promises "tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability," encouraging players to uncover the map's many Easter eggs.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players can enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and battle pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have collectively logged over 480 million hours in Black Ops 6 Zombies. The team notes that the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled since the mode's launch, rising from 3.38% to 8.23%.

The upcoming release of The Tomb will be particularly noteworthy given the recent voice actor recastings for some beloved Zombies characters, a consequence of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
