The Blood of Dawnwalker Devs Aim for Witcher 3 Quality

Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt Red developers, is aiming for The Witcher 3's quality level in their upcoming vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. Despite being a smaller-scale project, the team prioritizes high-quality development.

A Focused, High-Quality Experience

The Blood of Dawnwalker's Development Goals

In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz emphasized the studio's commitment to AAA standards. While acknowledging the game's smaller scope compared to a full-fledged AAA title, he clarified that the team isn't compromising on quality. They aim for a robust, engaging experience, targeting a 30-40 hour main campaign. Tomaszkiewicz pointed out that playtime isn't the sole determinant of AAA status, citing examples of shorter AAA games.

The studio's experience working on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 provides a strong foundation for this ambitious project. Rebel Wolves was founded to allow for greater creative freedom than working within a larger AAA studio.

The Blood of Dawnwalker's World and Story

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a narrative-driven, open-world dark fantasy RPG set in the land of Vale Sangora. Players assume the role of Coen, a peasant who gains vampiric abilities and embarks on a quest to save his sister. The game promises a compelling story and challenging gameplay within its mystical setting.

Currently, there's no confirmed release date, but a gameplay reveal is expected in Summer 2025. The game is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
