As you explore, you'll notice various herbs at the base of trees, including the much-needed Blackroots. While one Blackroot suffices for the ritual, it's wise to gather a few more as a precaution. Without delving into spoilers, remember that you can perform the ritual each time you earn a Source point.

Cloisterwood Exploration Tips

Cloisterwood is teeming with mysteries and valuable encounters. You'll find two NPCs, Hannag and Jahan, who can each grant you a Source point. Jahan also plays a significant role in Lohse's storyline. Hidden within some ruins, you'll encounter the undead trader, Eithne. By choosing the "Divine Order" option in your conversation with her, you can unlock a side quest.

Further north, at the edge of Cloisterwood, a pier hosts the Dead Ferryman NPC, who can transport you to Bloodmoon Island.
