Black Ops 6 Cheaters Kick Players; Activision's False Fix Claims

In late January, a video emerged online demonstrating the use of a tool that allows hackers to remove players from matches in Black Ops 6. The footage was reportedly captured during the multiplayer beta of the game. In response, Activision clarified that the video was from the beta phase and that the vulnerability had been addressed before the game's official release in November. The company emphasized that their team continuously investigates reports of such utilities and assured that the current version of the game does not exhibit the issues shown in the video.
However, some players have accused Activision of being dishonest, asserting that hackers are still exploiting the utility. To support their claims, a video was shared showing the tool in use during a match on the Nuketown map, which was introduced to Black Ops 6 just a week after its launch.
According to Circana analysts, Black Ops 6 was the top-selling game in the United States last year, continuing the Call of Duty series' streak as the highest-ranked game in the U.S. for 16 consecutive years. In contrast, EA Sports College Football 25, released on consoles in July, emerged as the most played sports game in the country.
Circana's data also revealed that in 2024, U.S. gamers' total spending saw a slight decline of 1.1% year over year, attributed to reduced hardware demand. However, spending on add-ons and services increased by 2% and 6%, respectively. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate the second season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2, which will feature a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe, set to premiere on January 28.
