Atomfall Teases Gameplay Before March Launch

Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, receives a comprehensive gameplay showcase in a new seven-minute trailer. Set in an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war, Atomfall promises a compelling blend of exploration, crafting, and combat reminiscent of titles like Fallout and STALKER.

The trailer highlights key gameplay elements: navigating quarantined zones and desolate villages, scavenging for resources, and engaging in both melee and ranged combat against robotic and cultist enemies. Players will craft essential survival tools, from healing items to explosives like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs, and utilize a metal detector to uncover hidden supplies. Weapon customization is also emphasized, with upgrades available for the initially basic arsenal of a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle. Further weapon variety is hinted at within the game's open world.

Progression is driven by collectible training manuals, unlocking skills across four categories: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning. This skill tree system adds depth to the gameplay loop, allowing players to tailor their approach to the challenging environment.

Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall will launch on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion has promised a further in-depth video soon, promising even more details for eager fans.
