Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition Now Available

Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is now available on iOS and Android! This release includes a free-to-play single-player island experience. For access to all expansions (also purchasable individually), plus additional perks, consider the Ark Subscription Pass.

Following earlier speculation, official confirmation arrived swiftly, accompanied by a new trailer and details. While I won't reiterate the core Ark gameplay (refer to my previous article for that), I can confirm its availability on Google Play, the iOS App Store, and the Epic Games Mobile Store.

The base Ark experience is free. Expansions are available as individual purchases, or via the Ark Pass Subscription ($4.99 monthly or $49.99 annually). The subscription unlocks all current and future expansions, single-player console commands, bonus XP, free key drops, and exclusive server access.

Subscription Concerns

My main reservation is the subscription model. Many players might prefer a one-time purchase. However, the option to buy expansions separately mitigates this somewhat. The nature of server access, however, could be a significant factor, especially given the importance of multiplayer in the original Ark: Survival Evolved.
