ARK: Survival Evolved Sets Out 2-Year Blueprint

ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled

Studio Wildcard has released an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, detailing a robust schedule of updates extending into late 2026. This Unreal Engine 5 remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved, initially launched in early access in November 2023, will continue receiving regular content additions.

The roadmap's immediate focus is a technical upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.5, slated for March 2025. This update promises significant performance improvements and the return of Nvidia's frame generation technology. Simultaneously, Studio Wildcard will implement a data restructuring initiative, allowing players to download DLC map packs individually, thus reducing the game's overall installation size.

Beyond the technical enhancements, the roadmap outlines a steady stream of new content:

2025-2026 Content Rollout:

  • April 2025: Free Ragnarok Ascended map, a Bison (free creature), and a Fantastic Tame.
  • June 2025: A new premium map (details to be announced).
  • August 2025: Free Valguero Ascended map, a community-voted free creature, and a Fantastic Tame.
  • April 2026: Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 and Bob's True Tales Part 1.
  • August 2026: Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 and Bob's True Tales Part 2.
  • December 2026: Free Fjordur Ascended map and a community-voted free creature.
  • Throughout 2026: Three additional Fantastic Tames.

The roadmap highlights a mix of free content updates, including remastered maps (Ragnarok, Valguero, Genesis, Fjordur) and community-chosen creatures, alongside paid DLC, such as the yet-to-be-revealed premium map in June 2025 and the "Bob's True Tales" episodic content. While the roadmap provides a high-level overview, Studio Wildcard hints at potential additional surprises throughout the next two years.
