Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series
Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don the yellow and plaid once again, reprising her role as Cher Horowitz in a new sequel series on Peacock. The project, currently in development, promises to continue the beloved story from where it left off, though specific plot details remain under wraps.
This isn't Peacock's first attempt at a *Clueless* spin-off. However, this new series differentiates itself from the previously planned 2020 project. Leading the creative charge are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot, alongside writer Jordan Weiss. The trio will not only pen the series but also executive produce it, joined by Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to bring this vision to life.
This sequel series marks another small-screen adaptation of the beloved film, following a television version that aired from 1996 to 1999 on ABC and UPN, which featured Rachel Blanchard as Cher instead of Silverstone.
Silverstone's recent appearance as Cher in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten hints at her eagerness to step back into the world of *Clueless*. Clearly, she's ready to dive back into Cher's iconic wardrobe, and fans can't wait to see what new adventures await.
