Experience the excitement of Minnesota Whist, a no-trump variant of the classic card game, now on your mobile device. This free-to-play app lets you track your stats as you challenge intelligent AI opponents.

Minnesota Whist, popular in Minnesota and South Dakota, is a partnership game that stands out for its absence of trumps. The game's objective varies with the type of bid: in a "high bid" round, teams aim to win seven or more of the thirteen tricks, while in a "low bid" round, the goal is to win six or fewer tricks.

This simple yet engaging partnership trick-taking game is ideal for honing your card-playing skills. It encourages strategic thinking and teamwork, making it a perfect way to relax and enjoy a fast-paced game.

Collaborate with your AI partner to outsmart your opponents in this thrilling card game. Whist is an excellent introduction to trick-taking games, allowing you to develop your skills and increase the difficulty level to hard when you're ready for a challenge.

To emerge victorious, you and your AI partner must outwit your opponents and be the first team to reach the win target, set at either 13 or seven.

Keep track of your all-time and session stats to monitor your progress as you learn and improve.

Quickfire Rules:

After dealing the cards evenly among four players, each player bids either high (with a black card) or low (with a red card). Bids are revealed one by one, starting left of the dealer. The first black card turned over signifies a 'granded' bid, and the round is played 'high' (teams aim to win as many tricks as possible). No further cards are turned over after the first black card. If all bid cards are red, the game is played 'low' (teams aim to win as few tricks as possible).

In a high bid round, the player to the right of the one who granded leads the first trick. In a low bid round, the player to the left of the dealer leads. Players then play one card each, following suit if possible. If unable to follow suit, any card can be played. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick, and the winner leads the next trick.

At the end of each round, points are scored based on the number of tricks each partnership collects. In a high bid round, the granding team earns a point for each trick over six. If they fail to win seven tricks, the opposing team scores either one or two points per trick over six, depending on the 'set bonus' setting. In a low bid round, teams earn one point for each trick under seven.
