Tute Cabrero

Tute Cabrero is a beloved and competitive card game originating from South America, enjoyed by players of all ages. This exciting trick-taking game is played by 3 to 5 participants, with each player competing individually—there are no teams involved.

The primary goal in Tute Cabrero is to either accumulate the most points or the fewest points, depending on the variation being played (commonly referred to as "go to more" or "go to less"). Interestingly, finishing in second place means defeat—making every round a thrilling battle for the top or bottom of the scoreboard. The game uses a standard 40-card Spanish deck, offering a unique and strategic gameplay experience.

Card rankings play a crucial role in determining the outcome of each round. From highest to lowest, the order is as follows: Ace (worth 11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points), followed by the 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2, which hold no point value.

During gameplay, the first card played in a trick sets the leading suit, and all players must follow that suit if possible. If a player cannot match the lead suit, they may play any other card. Trump suit cards always win the trick. In the absence of trump cards, the highest card of the leading suit takes the trick.
