Town of Salem: A Guide to Deception and Deduction
Town of Salem is a thrilling social deduction game where players navigate a world of murder, accusations, and deception. The objective? Uncover the hidden evils among you before they eliminate the innocent.
Gameplay Overview
Games typically involve 7-15 players, randomly assigned to one of several alignments: Town (the good guys), Mafia, Serial Killers, Arsonists, and Neutrals. Town members must identify and eliminate the villains before they are all killed. The challenge? You won't know who's friend or foe.
Evil roles, like Serial Killers, secretly murder Town members during the night phase, aiming to blend in and avoid detection.
Diverse Roles and Customization
With over 33 unique roles, each game offers a fresh and unpredictable experience. Before the game begins, the host selects the roles available, and players are randomly assigned. Each role has unique abilities and alignments, detailed on the official website: www.blankmediagames.com/roles.
Beyond roles, players can personalize their experience with customizable maps, characters, pets, lobby icons, death animations, and houses. These choices are visible to other players.
Game Phases: A Cycle of Suspicion
The game unfolds in distinct phases:
-
Night Phase: Most roles activate their abilities during the night. Serial Killers strike, Doctors offer protection, and Sheriffs investigate.
-
Day Phase: Town members discuss their suspicions and deliberate on who might be a villain.
-
Voting Phase: A majority vote determines which player will stand trial.
-
Defense Phase: The accused pleads their case to the town, attempting to sway opinions.
-
Judgement Phase: The town votes on the defendant's fate – guilty, innocent, or abstain. A guilty verdict results in execution.
